The prognosis for recovering from work addiction likely depends on the severity of the problem. In some cases, life style modifications may prove helpful in reducing workaholic tendencies and improving overall functioning and quality of life. However, in other cases, additional professional psychological treatment may be required to address the underlying causes for workaholic behaviors and to develop healthy coping skills. More systematic research is necessary to understand which treatment modalities work best in particular cases.
